Who is responsible

What we collect
This site has no sign-up, no comments, no newsletter and no forms, so we do not ask you for your name, email address or any other details. The only information involved is the technical data your browser sends when it requests a page: your IP address, the date and time, the pages requested, and details of your browser and device.
Why we use it
We use this technical data to deliver the pages to you, keep the site secure and fix faults. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in running and protecting the site. We keep it only for as long as those purposes need.
What we do not do
We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, tag managers or tracking scripts on this site, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Who else receives data
- Hosting. Our web host processes the technical data above in order to serve the site.
- Fonts and code libraries. The text font is loaded from Google Fonts, and the page layout styles and scripts are loaded from the jsDelivr content network. Those providers receive your IP address and browser details when your browser fetches those files, and they may process them outside the United Kingdom.
- Providers we link to. When you follow a link to a provider, you leave our site. The link address carries campaign parameters that identify the article and campaign, not you, so that the visit can be credited. Anything you enter on the provider's site is handled by the provider under its own privacy notice.
- The ad that brought you here. If you arrived from an advertisement, the platform that showed it handles its own data under its own policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to receive it in a portable format, where those rights apply. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator.
